On this page I hope to be able to pass on some of my designs of electronic and mechanical projects that I have undertaken to build. I hope they will be useful to somebody or perhaps just give you some ideas to progress on. Click on each project to view explanations, schematics and PCB layouts. I also hope in the future to be able to supply ready etched and drilled PCBs (I do produce these myself so can only supply them time allowing). Alternatively once we have sorted out the rest of the site, I will try and include gerber files of the PCBs which you can download and open in Quickroute or Easy PC |
| Details on obtaining my PCBs My PCBs are designed using Quickroute on my PC. I print them out onto transparrent photocopy sheets on a Brother HL10 Laser printer. I use pre coated fibreglass PCB which I purchase from Rapid Electronics in Colchester, Essex. I use an exposure time of 140 seconds and develop them in a weak sodium hydroxide solution. I then etch them in my etch tank using Ferric Chloride, they are then washed and drilled and guillotined to size. |
| If you wish to use my artwork, there are three ways in which you can do so. 1. Download it as a gerber file and open it in Quickroute or EasyPC. (this is not yet available, but will be soon) 2. Send a stamped addressed envelope, A4, to the theatre, accompanied by a cheque to the theatre for £2.50 and I will send you a 1:1 printed transparancy, component overlay and full schematic to enable you to etch it yourself. 3. I can supply a drilled and ready to use PCB (see prices for each project). Please specify clearly the PCB required from its code for the appropriate project when writing to the theatre. PLEASE NOTE: I can only supply these as time allows as I have a theatre to run!! For some of the projects I may be able to produce a full kit of parts including PCBs or in some cases a fully built and tested board. Keep an eye on this page for availability of this facility. |

If you are not competent or familiar with the dangers that exist using high voltage equipment, or have any doubts, please do not attempt to play with it (it bites!). |
