And then came Copacabana. Yet again another challenge, with vibrant music and costumes, lots of singing and dancing and once again lots of fun. As with all of our previous productions, we built our own set, which included a starcloth and a New York Skyline frenchman with lit windows, both of which we still use in lots of other productions. |

The music, written by Barry Manilow, was jazzy and bold and had some great songs. Rob Turner took on the lead role of Tony, with Claire Wright playing the part of Lola. This dream-like show follows the story of the song Copacabana, where a show girl with aspirations to be a Copa Girl gets mixed up with the nasty Rico who takes her away to Havana, only to be rescued by Tony and his friends from the Copacabana night club.

The show was seen by a NODA Councillor who thought it was so good NODA offered us 18 months honorary membership. We have since joined NODA and have gone on to win many awards (see next page).
