| The forestage is particularly useful for dancing schools with smaller children, and breaks up the space between audience and performers. The stage can seem fairly high, and having the forestage breaks this illusion. Please note: If you wish to use this arrangement, prior notice must be given and you may be charged for set-up time if the staging is not already in place. Your company may also be required to provide personnel to help move and arrange it. If you use the forestage, a proportion of the lighting from the FOH 1 spot bar will be dedicated to that area, and subsequently you may lose lighting in other areas, such as the apron corners of the stage, which are normally lit by FOH 1 bar. Please check with the theatre in advance of your show if you have special requirements. The ramps and side platforms are stored at the theatre, they are not the property of the theatre, and a hire fee is required by the owners. Please contact the theatre for details. If you use the forestage arrangement, you will not be able to use rostra elsewhere on the stage, unless you can provide your own. If you have a band or orchestra, sections of the forestage can be removed to accommodate up to four musicians and their instruments. Safety The edges of the platforms, ramps and forestage are all clearly marked with white tape. However due to the angle of the ramps, they may be difficult to navigate for small children. Please bear this in mind if you have youngsters in your production, it is advised that they are accompanied by older children or adults when using the ramps. |
